Course Program In Agricultural And Bioresources Engineering

 

Undergraduate Program

The Department of Agric. & Bioresources Engineering offers 5-years degree program (4–years for direct entry students) leading to Bachelor of Engineering degree in Agricultural and Bioresources Engineering. The program is developed in line with NUC approved minimum academic standards. The program emphasizes practical training. All students are required to participate in a 9 – month industrial training in addition to mandatory laboratory exercises and fieldwork. 

 

Master Program

The Master of Engineering Degree Program offers higher academic and practical training to the Agric. & Bioresources Engineer beyond the scope of the B.Eng. Degree program. It makes the recipient more competent with stronger background in theoretical engineering strategies and research orientation.  The areas of specialization in Agricultural and Bioresources Engineering Degree Program are:

 

  1. Power Systems, Machinery & Forestry Engineering

2 Soil, Water Resources  and Aqua-cultural Engineering 

3 Food and Bioprocess Engineering

4 Farm Structures and Environmental Control Engineering

  1. Environmental Engineering

 

Doctor of Philosophy Program

As a developing nation, Nigeria needs effective organs to stimulate development of the agricultural section of the natural economy. The Department of Agric. & Bioresources Engineering, Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka appreciates the need to play a fundamental role in high level manpower development and professional orientation in the country. The PhD degree program is conceived as a desirable forum for advanced studies and research and development efforts focusing on current and future problems of local and international interests in Agricultural and Bioresources Engineering. The PhD degree program covers the following areas of specialization in Agricultural and Bioresources Engineering:
